I really never know what to wear. I think it comes from my basic discomfort of being in my body–or having my body noticed. I have been trying to imagine what a uniform for me would look like. How it would have to “cover” my various roles and support my efforts as a studio artist, mother, consumer, hiker, gym goer, urban farmer and I (in case I ever get around to it) house cleaner. This process of looking at roles has also led me to explore identity issues of clothing expressing, supporting, hiding and emphasizing my discomfort with my femininity, middle age, and weight. I recently learned there is a genre of Fashion Blogs. So, welcome to my fashion blog! Here is my working mother shirt design (you can change the labels to reflect working, being a mother, or both. . . )
